I just returned form a biking trip with some friends to the San Diego area.  While we were there I had a chance to visit the US Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista.  LASIK for the Gold member, Arielle Martin was kind enough to show us around the facility!  It was quite impressive.

Arielle is training to compete in BMX in London this summer.  She showed us the current training course,

and an exact replica of the London course which is currently being built.

While touring the facility, we also bumped into another LASIK for The Gold member, USA Field Hockey’s Caroline Nichols.

I now have a new appreciation of the skill set and importance of having perfect vision to compete in BMX.  It is mind boggling to even consider how difficult it is to navigate this course at the speeds Arielle and her competition approach.  Arielle talked about competitive advantages:
